It’s no secret that celebrities are obsessed with blockchain and cryptocurrency. The technology has been gaining momentum over the past couple of years and celebrities have been on the forefront of promoting it to a wider audience for defi promotion. Nowadays, more and more people are getting into cryptocurrencies and companies are hopping on the bandwagon to promote them through celebrity involvement. These days, Bitcoin is cool again!

1. Snoop Lion – 

“Snoop Lion and his wife are the proud owners of a number of cryptocurrency mining rigs. They even have an album named after the infamous digital currency, Snoop Dogg’s “Mining Coin.” With all this blockchain-based activity, it’s no surprise that the rapper has announced he will be running for governor of California in 2018 . A crypto-focused campaign is definitely going to be possible.”

2. Paris Hilton –  

“Paris Hilton hit up San Francisco in June 2017 for a Blockchain Hackathon sponsored by Coinbase. The purpose of this hackathon was to encourage people to create apps for the newly created Global Digital Asset Exchange (GDAX). GDAX is a cryptocurrency exchange that operates as part of the greater San Francisco based Coinbase crypto-mining platform. Hosted at Coinbase headquarters, the hackathon gave participants access to mobile phones, laptops and a dedicated team of blockchain developers. Paris Hilton attended the event, but didn’t have time to join the blockchain community for long.”

3. Elton John –  

“This year marks Elton John’s 50th birthday and he’s getting in on the cryptocurrency excitement by announcing he’d like his birthday to be celebrated with a planned public ICO (Initial Coin Offering). The announcement was made via an interview with The Guardian where Elton said “I’m doing an ICO for my birthday… Cryptocurrencies are the future.” News approved site is here.

4. Ashton Kutcher –  

“Ashton Kutcher is taking some time out of his day to give back to society. In 2017 he focused on venture capital and even started his own fund, Sound Ventures, in partnership with Guy Oseary. The fund’s first investments include Airbnb and Uber. Not only has the actor helped launch new startups with his VC firm, he’s also made a number of investments in blockchain, including investing $4 million into Ripple Labs’ series A round of funding . He certainly seems to be quite aware of all the possibilities surrounding cryptocurrency.”

5. Madonna –

“Madonna has been known to be a bit of a crypto enthusiast even before she announced her new upcoming album, Madame X. The starlet recently released details about the album, stating that ” Madame X will be an opulent sci-fi EP that incorporates cryptocurrency, blockchain and artificial intelligence.” Traditionally an eclectic music lover, it seems Madonna may eventually be pushing boundaries as far as the music industry is concerned. Maybe tomorrow her new song will have lyrics about Satoshi Nakamoto or something… Although there’s no mention of what kind of digital coin she’s planning to use for digital rewards on her newly released album…”

6. Vitalik Buterin –  

“Vitalik Buterin is one of the founders of Ethereum and a principle developer for the Ethereum code. He also has his own cryptocurrency, Ether, which he created in 2014. The currency was created as an incentive for individual contributors of baclinks to the Ethereum code; therefore it has value just like Bitcoin. However, its current market capitalization is around 7.5 billion USD which puts it at #51 out of 182 cryptocurrencies and significantly behind Bitcoin.”

7. Justin Bieber –  

“Justin Bieber just released his new single “Sorry.” The song’s credits include a smart contract from blockchain company Jibrel Network . The Jibrel Network allows users to make use of different cryptocurrencies through their mobile phone. The song was released on the blockchain and all digital copies were given a unique token that can be used to integrate Jibrel into other apps. In addition, Jibrel will soon be releasing its own cryptocurrency called “JNT” in order to encourage other blockchain-based applications.”

8. Mark Zuckerberg –  

“Mark Zuckerberg made some pretty bold statements about cryptocurrency and blockchain technology in an interview with the New Yorker . He claims that the idea of using a technology like the Internet for transferring value without an intermediary could be a fundamental step for human society. “I think it’s really bad for the world if [the Facebook social network] has less privacy,” Zuckerberg said. “Facebook is a place for most of us to go and feel like we’re not the only people on earth, that our lives matter.” Zuck added that he’s always been interested in technology and when he heard about blockchain he simply couldn’t resist. He hopes that by introducing blockchain technology to the world, it will have a positive impact on society.”

9. Jimmy Fallon –  

“The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon has truly become a champion of cryptocurrency as of recently. He even has his own show where he interviews people who made a significant amount of money in the digital currency industry. His first guest was Erik Finman, a teenager who invested $1,000 into Bitcoin when he was just 12 years old . Now this smart businessman is a millionaire and appeared on Fallon’s The Tonight Show to talk about the crazy success of his investment. The next guest to appear on the show was Tom Lee, CEO of Fundstrat Global Advisors and somewhat of a cryptocurrency expert.”

10. Ashton Kutcher –

“Last year Ashton Kutcher started Hollywood’s first ever crypto fund called “Sound Ventures” and it looks like he isn’t slowing down anytime soon for crypto igaming. The fund was launched in partnership with Guy Oseary and the first several investments include Airbnb and Uber. As if that wasn’t enough, he’s signed on to be the next advisor for AirToken which is a company that plans to launch the world’s first decentralized global wireless network. In addition, he recently spoke at the Global Blockchain Summit in Dubai where he discussed his passion for emerging technology.”
